We Slay …. Holiday Double Slay 2018 featuring ELOQUII

Along my journey I’ve met some very influential people in my life, one of those is none other that Lisa of the blog MustangSallyTwo.  To her followers and fellow influencers, she’s the one who slays from head to toe, is accessorized way beyond my capabilities and is like fine wine…she gets better with age.  A few years ago she decided to celebrate the Christmas season with some of her fellow Plus Size Toronto babes to showcase that you can slay at any size and so, the Holiday Double slay was birthed.

So without further a due…here’s our 2018’s edition of the Holiday Double Slay featuring ELOQUII

Our outfit choices are pretty close to our personalities… Lisa is super polished, glam and put together and is dripping slayage head to toe.  And mind you, so am I, but with my sporty style infused in my look.  I mean after all, every personal trainer should have a pair of sequins joggers, right??  Oh ya, let’s not skip over that…not only are we defying how us plus babes can slay the fashion game, but I’m passionate about defying how people see athletes and I’m a personal trainer and own 2 fitness studios in the Toronto area (www.FitnessBySarahTaylor.com)

With all that said…this look is outside of my comfort zone a little bit.  But…that’s one of the amazing things of being friends with Lisa – she challenges my fashion game and helps me step it up.  She accessorizes and pairs things together to complete a whole look.

When we were preparing for this holiday fashion extravaganza, Lisa also talked about how she wanted to showcase us seated.   There have been generations of fashion media where plus representation was left out and although we’ve come so far, we still have so far to go.  Not all plus bodies are a perfect hourglass shape with a flat tummy, slender thighs, etc.  We are often ‘placed’ in campaigns to be angled to showcase the ‘right’curves.  But, what about how we look everyday, in our everyday life, sitting and dripping with confidence and beauty.  We’re also about pushing that envelope and we’re gonna keep going!

This year I’ve been all about sequins so when I saw these joggers, I knew I had to have them.  And then…and then I saw this beautiful top/jacket.  Now I usually have a hard time wearing a blazer because my shoulders are pretty broad but this was the perfect fit and added an extra sexy element to it.  I am kind of stubborn some times when it comes to stepping out of my box and planning a whole look but that’s where Lisa comes in – she helps currate a whole look and step my game up.  Also, ELOQUII sure makes it easy to find all the finishing touches – from jewelry to clutches so it’s literally a one stop shop.

When I saw our photos come back, all I could do was smile.  You see, the holidays used to be a tough time growing up with all the parties and not feeling comfortable in my own skin.  I could never find clothes that I loved, felt amazing in and could look in the mirror and say I was beautiful.  But a lot has changed.  I’ve really focused on learning to love me and my heart’s desire is for all women to see the beauty looking back at them in that reflection.  And with brands like ELOQUII, it makes it so easy to look so damn good!  Thanks ELOQUII!!  Now I’m not gonna lie…when I saw the final looks, I also felt like a brunette, plus version of Khloe Kardashian, which I’m a’ok with.

Now, let’s just take a moment to take in Lisa’s beauty….. she truly is a gem.  She is probably one of the kindest women I’ve met with an absolute heart of gold.

Not only has Lisa challenged my fashion game, but she’s been supportive of all my endevours, has my back and she even helps me with my taxes 😉  And you know what…I got her back too.  We’re more than friends, we’re sisters and I’m so grateful for her in my life!
