It is with great excitement that I make the following announcement: SexyPlus Clothing (located at 5100 Maingate Drive in Mississauga) has come on board as my official outfitter for my reign as Miss Plus Canada 2014.
My journey with SexyPlus clothing started at The Toronto Fuller Woman Expo in 2013. This was actually a pivotal point in my journey in accepting my body with all its curves as I saw curvy women on the runway – beautiful, strong and confident. It is because of this event that my eyes were opened to this growing industry and movement right here in Canada. It was also the first time I set eyes on the vast selection the store carried. When I visited the store a couple months ago to purchase a dress, I was so excited to be in a store where I could try on anything – it fit and I had so many options to choose from. Shopping has been a tough experience in the past as a curvy girl and now a curvy woman and SexyPlus Clothing made my shopping experience not just tolerable but enjoyable. From a girl who typically wears all black to hide her figure, SexyPlus has helped me step outside my box over and over in bright, bold colours and styles.
The owner, Stefanie has been so lovely and she was also one of the judges at the Miss Plus Canada Pageant this year. Her mission is to help full figured women of all shapes and sizes look and feel their best in unique, sexy styles. In my opinion she has done an amazing job at that. I just love the items she brings into her store as well as the experience while you are in the store! Stefanie is more than a retailer – she challenges women to embrace all of who they are and encourage them to be bold. Thank you for all you do Stefanie!
